A96 comprises
graduates of BA Fine Art courses in Scotland who have come together for mutual support, ideas, social
interchange, and to exhibit individually or collectively.
We believe that the
importance of contemporary art should not be underestimated, as it helps to
enrich our unique culture and provide attraction for visitors, tourists
and resident art lovers.
Art facilities in
the hinterland between Inverness and Aberdeen are limited given that there are
an increasing numbers of practicing artists in the area. This changing dynamic
is, in part, due to the fact that the Moray School of Art, based
in the UHI Millennium Institute, now runs a four-year BA Honours Fine
Art degree course, and is the newest Art School in Scotland.
A number of these
graduates have carried on to further study at Gray's School of Art in Aberdeen,
Duncan of Jordanstone in Dundee, Edinburgh College of Art and Glasgow School of
Art.

the A96 Collective are to:
